In southern Africa the Eriocephalus africanus (also known as Cape Snowbush, Kapokbos or Wild African Rosemary) grows mainly in the Namaqualand, Western and Eastern Cape. Appearing like snow when flowering in the winter and spring, this precious indigenous shrub decorates the landscape dearly. Traditionally used by the Khoisan as a mood enhancer and relaxant, Cape Snowbush has an invigorating effect and acts as an antidepressant, also relieving feelings of stress, anxiety and anger. It is able to aid with the letting go of negative emotions and with breaking addictive patterns. It is further used to protect the body against infections, expelling toxins from the body, treating coughs & colds, relieving spasms (muscle, respiratory, digestive) and soothing headaches.
