Perfume making is a tradition stretching back millennia, when scents were drawn entirely from the natural world.

 

“In ancient civilisations perfumes didn’t exist in the same way as we know them now. Originally, flowers, plants and resins were offered to the gods. They were used as media for approaching the divine.”

 

Through Another Sun’s Natural Perfumery, I create artisanal perfume oils at the confluence of aromachology, attar, and aromatherapy traditions. Each composition is bound in Golden Jojoba, a liquid wax treasured for centuries as a proverbial liquid gold.

 

Natural Perfumery is a craft of patience and intuition, where each ingredient is chosen and blended like notes in a symphony. A poetic medicine of beauty and imagination, composed with the natural character and essence of plants.

 

I work with love and respect for the emotional lives of plants and their oils, their spirit, which they so generously grant us use of.

 

Handcrafted from botanical absolutes, cold-pressed oils, and essential oils, these perfumery oils support harmony and coherence with the body and subtle energetic systems. Quite apart from conventional perfumes, which rely on synthetic or nature-identical compounds

 

Our bodies bridge the natural and unseen worlds ~ anchored in the elements, yet extending into the subtle. Plants and minerals speak as mavens and messengers between realms. Their magical compositions are confluences, shifters, and decrees that shape our becoming.

 

While many natural perfumers use natural fragrance oils that lack therapeutic benefit, I prefer to use pure, unadulterated extracts & essences that nourish both scent and wellbeing. 

 

Because plant extracts are naturally concentrated, restraint is essential: compositions are worn lightly, allowing the scent to emerge slowly with body warmth. 

 

Fragrance remains close, personal, and quietly expressive, evolving differently on every wearer like a living portrait revealing new facets of character.
