The Kaokoveld is one of Africa's last wildernesses, I spent a very special time here as a child amongst the beautiful & remarkable Himba people. My family made a film during this time as an effort to express how extraordinary this land and her people are, a quiet cinematic plea to allow this place to be and remain as it is.
 
This scent is my own hymn of the emotional temperature when I think back on this time… the mysteries of entirety, the adventure of feeling both lost and found in the ever expanding sense. The sand and ochre like cinnamon, the knowing of myrrh and the purpose driven stars. 
 
In ancient civilisations perfumes didn’t exist in the same way as we know them now. Originally, flowers, plants and resins were offered to the gods. They were used as media for approaching the divine.
